The Big and the Little Ecosystem

Updated: Dec 31, 2019

If we want humanity to stay as renewable energy, we will have to make it sustainable. The first sustainable energy for us will always be the human body.

Eating and breathing, we never stop converting the matter around us: the atoms of the air around us allow the brain to have thoughts, molecules of water running everywhere on Earth keep the blood flowing making it run into our muscles allowing them to move, calories from plants and animals allow us to grow and regenerate the heat that keeps us alive.

Keeping a human body efficient means to take care of a little ecosystem. Little, but extremely complex, interdependence and interaction of organs requires a subtle balance between air, water and light. The human body is the mirror of life. We can not live without water, but too much of it could drawn it. The air must have the right amount of oxygen to not make us suffocate, and to be neither too hot nor too cold.We need food but we have to be careful about indigestion. We are depending on sunlight to be healthy but we also need some shade to rest.

In fact, the only way to take care of our health is to take care of the Earth. Because everything outside will be reflected by the inside, all the poison we throw around us will come back to us like a boomerang.

There are no possibilities to be the island of peace surrounded by a ocean of war. Reflections work both ways, protect your body from toxicity of the environment is non-sense if you do not protect the environment itself, and taking care of yourself in a natural way is the first step leading to understanding how to keep the world in good shape.

If you are able to walk, take the stairs instead of the elevator, specially for just one floor. It's better for the nature, it's better for your muscles, your heart and your brain. If you take your car for less than five minutes, you'd rather go with your feet and you will probably not lose so much time, and you might recover it in life expectancy. Do some sports instead of shopping if you need to relax, you will release tension better after a stressful day.

Drink water instead of sodas, you will save money, your health, and the environment. Use natural products to clean your home and yourself, and you'll avoid cancer while protecting the ecosystem.

If you are stressed, go spend some time in a forest, or near a river, instead of taking anxiety medication. Calm and oxygen is way better for your brain, your liver and your kidneys. Eat fresh organic fruits rather than taking vitamins pills.

If you need light, open the curtain instead of turning on a lamp, it's good for your mind to see some sky and good for your skin to have some sun. When you need air, open the window and avoid the noise or air conditioner, bugs will be less attracted if you turn off the light you don't need.
